Introduction
Online forms. We’ve all had to deal with them. Clicking from page to page, dead-eyed, uncaring. Is there anything more likely to put off potential leads? Well, there’s an alternative. Typeform lets you create snazzy, colourful forms and surveys to gather data without boring your customers to death. Here’s what you can expect:
Main Features
So what does Typeform offer that the beloved Google Forms can not? Here are some examples:
– Logic Jumps
Typeform’s logic jumps let you combine multiple serveys into one. Like a choose-your-own-adventure novel, answering a question one way can take you down one path, while answering it a different way can take you down another. This way you can tailor your questions to get the most accurate data possible from your respondents.
– Customizable Survey Templates
Typeform provides you with a wide selection of colourful survey templates, alll fully customizable. There’s a template for just about every purpose, from surveys and questionnaires to lead generation and quizzes.
– High Level Reports
Typeform provides clean, colourful and easy-to-understand reports on all the data your surveys have accrued. You can find out in seconds the number of unique visitors you’ve had, or how many of them have responded, or even what device they completed the survey on.
– Plenty of Extensions
Typeform provides you with a whole bunch of extensions and integrations. You can integrate your Typeform surveys with Google Docs, Slack, Hubspot and a whole bunch of other popular apps.
Plans and Pricing
Typeform offers three payment plans – Essential, Professional and Premium. Like many online services, there’s a discount available when you sign up for a year-long plan as opposed to a month-by-month plan.

Interestingly, if you sign up for the yearly plan the Essentials package ends up costing the same as the more robust Professional package, making it a bit of a no-brainer if you’re in for the long haul. There’s also a stripped-down, bare bones Free package, which provides you with 3 forms of 10 questions per form, and none of the bells-and-whistles of the paid packages (such as logic jumps).
The paid packages break down as follows:
– Essentials
- $35 per month/$30 a month (yearly).
- 1000 responses per month.
- 3 Logic Jumps per form.
- Customisable ‘Thank You” Screen
- Calculator Feature
– Professional
- $50 per month/$35 a month (yearly).
- 5000 responses per month.
- Unlimited Logic Jumps.
- Customisable ‘Thank You” Screen

Pros:
– Lovely to Look At
One area in which Typeform excels against its competitors is its aesthetic. It’s far and away the prettiest survey platform out there. The survey templates are bright and colourful, and the seamless transition from question-to-question is much easier on the eyes than the cluttered scroll of other survey platforms.
– Easy-to-Use Builder
Typeform’s form designer is simple and intuitive to use, even for those without a tech background. Simply type out the questions you need and place your multiple-choice answers in bullet points. Adding pictures, changing fonts and colours and so on is easily achieved in the sidebar.
– Those Logic Jumps
No, seriously – we can’t overstate enough how useful the Logic Jumps feature is. You don’t have to mess around tailoring individual forms for each segment of your customer base – simply pop everything into one form and funnel your customers where they need to go. It’s a major time-saver compared to the competition.
Cons:
– A Little Expensive for a Survey Tool?
As pretty and easy-to-use as Typeform is, it might be hard for those just starting out to justify spending quite so much money on a survey tool when there are free options out there that can do the job. Okay, there’s a free option – but without the extras like Logic Jumps, it’s not really all that different to the likes of Google Forms or Survey Monkey.
– Limited Customer Service
One recurring complaint in customer reviews of Typeform is the lack of customer support. Support is via email only, and you have to fill out a form detailing your problem beforehand. In fairness, they offer extensive information on how to operate their services on their website and they generally respond to requests for assistance promptly. However, it could be off-putting for those who prefer to contact the company for help directly.
– Data Export is a Little Awkward
Exporting data from your Typeform surveys is a little clumsier than it is with the likes of Google Forms, which packages everything neatly into a downloadable spreadsheet. With Typeform, you have to awkwardly go rummaging around in menus before getting what you want. It’s a not a huge criticism, but it’s an area where Typeform is outshone by its competitors.
Wrap-up
Typeform makes data collection a piece of cake, and looks absolutely gorgeous to boot. The Logic Jumps feature is an elegant solution to making several clunky forms, and the wide range of extensions allows you to pair your form up to just about everything out there. However, the high price might be a little off-putting for those just starting out, especially when there are plenty of good free options out there.
